What’s something unique or unexpected about ISHS that only students would know?

The year 11 coordinator was a hip hop artist, a surprisingly good one at that, he even performed freestyle at the year 12 send off and he break danced at my semi-formal.

🏫 Culture & Student Life

What stands out in your memory that reflects ISHS’s culture or spirit?

It was fairly relaxed and modern, they were very accepting and representative of students, many felt safe and accepted there to be their true self. Everyone mostly got along you would have your group or groups but they would all interact with each other and it was fairly easy to fit in with one another and get along.

📚 Subject Variety

How well did ISHS offer choice and support curiosity beyond exam results?

The available electives were enough for the students going there, there was art, science, maths, literature, social sience. Enough to cover almost all pathways and alongside that they also offered various tafe programs and diplomas. There was a wide range of activities to chose from.

📖 Grade 12 Subjects

What subjects did you take in Year 12, and which did you enjoy or regret?

Legal studies, biology, ancient history, economics, and English. I did most of these just for fun and econ because I was very good at it. Looking back I wish I had done accounting purely for universitys sake but other than that I picked them because I enjoyed them and I enjoyed the class, I did the same subject with the same teachers for 3 years in a row and it was a nice environment.

What is the immediate environment around ISHS like? Are there any safety concerns nearby?

There arent any hazards near the school, in fact there are two other schools/colleges near this scholl, because of its safe enviroment. The only two hazards are the busy roads due to parents picking up their children and the train station, which is often very crowded

Yes, many we do tend to befriend one another, and there is a parent council in the school

Our heads respond to our questins and worries within 10- 20 mins and are solved super quickly and safely. Also they have a musical that parents and carers are welcome to attend
