  • 1. Would you recommend your school to others, and why or why not?

"Yes, despite being such a big school they have a good support system for students and emphasis the importance of community. Also a good range of subjects to choose from in senior, and many extracurricular activities."

  • 2. What aspects of your school experience had the biggest impact on you?

"Extracurriculars such as rowing and cross country definitely helped me to build a bigger community and live a healthier lifestyle. Also study strategies that we learnt in classes have continued to really help me in other aspects of life."

  • 3. Was bullying an issue at school and how did the school deal with it?

I felt very safe at school, times when I heard about bullying occurring usually the head of year was notified and action was taken. However they weren’t very organised in helping students who needed separate rooms for exams for mental heath reasons, which at times took a toll on their results."

  • 4. How would you describe your school's culture? Was it strict or relaxed?

"They were quite strict about uniform especially in junior years which could be frustrating, I think it very much depended on the teachers you got for subjects, some would be very strict about behavior and dress codes, some more lenient."

  • 5. By the time you graduated, how prepared did you feel for life after high school?

"I think going to such a big school made me feel more prepared as I developed those social skills as well as academic. I’m also pretty confident in my independent study abilities now, as being such a big school there wasn’t always support available right when it was needed."

  • 6. Did your school offer enough subject choices and opportunities to explore diverse interests?

"Yes I would say so. For some subjects like geography we had field trips which encouraged more engagement. For modern history we had discussion groups etc, and English sometimes we’d see live action plays which were always fun."

  • ...and many more Q & A's including:
    • What’s something only students would know about your school (something surprising, random, or unique)?

    • What subjects did you do in grade 12 and why did you choose them? Do you wish you had chosen differently?

  • • Imagine a student struggling in a core subject. How accessible were teachers or other supports for extra help?

    • Rate the emphasis your school placed on academics on a scale of 1 to 10.

    • Rate the quality of academic resources (e.g., libraries, labs, technology)

  • • How well did your school's coaches develop students and provide chances to compete, whether in school teams or at higher levels?

    • How would you describe the opportunities to participate in the arts?

  • 1. What made you pick this school for your child? Do you feel that this school is worth the cost?

"I chose the school because of its reputation and proximity to home, but looking back, I’m not sure it was the best fit. I didn’t have to pay extra tuition fees, but I did consider moving into the catchment area for the convenience. Honestly, I don’t feel it was worth the cost, especially when it came to the level of support and opportunities provided."

  • 2. What are the things you like most and dislike most about your school?

"What I liked most was the convenience of the location and the variety of subjects offered. However, I disliked how the school didn’t always seem to prioritize support for struggling students, and I felt that the focus was too much on academics rather than a well-rounded experience."

  • 3. How does your school address and prevent bullying, and what has been your child's experience with the social environment?

The school has policies to address bullying, and they do try to create a positive environment. My child had a generally good social experience, with some challenges, but the staff was responsive when issues arose. Overall, the school worked to promote inclusivity and a sense of community.

  • 4. What is the immediate surrounds of the school like? Are there safety or security hazards?

"The immediate area around the school is fairly safe, with some busy roads to be cautious of, especially during peak times. There aren’t major flood risks, but the area could be better lit in certain spots. I haven’t noticed much suspicious activity, but like anywhere, it’s good to stay aware of your surroundings."

  • 5. Would you say there is a close-knit community of parents at your child’s school? Do parents tend to know each other and form friendships, or is it more independent?

"There is a decent sense of community among parents, though it’s not overly close-knit. Some parents know each other and form friendships, but it’s more independent overall. There are events where parents can connect, but it’s not always easy to form strong bonds."

  • ...and many more Q & A's including:
    • In your opinion, does your school effectively balance academic rigour with the overall well-being of students?

    • What were your academic expectations of the school and how did it measure up? Did it exceed or fail to meet expectations and how so?

  • • Can you share your experience with the level of support your school provides for students who may struggle with reading, writing, or other academic challenges?

    • How well does your school integrate technology into both classroom learning and communication with parents?

What’s it really like for kids of all kinds, from academics to wellbeing to the arts, and how do parents feel about the school’s support?

Our reviews are from recent grads and parents, not old memories or hearsay. That way, you’re choosing based on what’s true now, not what was true twenty years ago.

Frequently asked questions

How do you verify that the reviews are real?

Every review is submitted by a real parent or student, and we require verification using school-specific items like student ID cards, senior jerseys, or other non-copiable proof. We don’t accept anonymous or unverified submissions.

Who are the reviews written by?

Our reviews come from current parents and recent graduates with firsthand experience. You’ll get perspectives that are honest, relevant, and recent (unlike the second-hand stories you hear from friends of friends).

How many schools are covered?

We’re starting with most of the major high schools across Brisbane and adding more every week. If you don’t see your school yet, there’s a good chance it’s coming soon.

How much does it cost to access the reviews?

We’re still finalising pricing, but we expect full access to cost less than 1% of what you’ll spend on your child’s education. You can join the waitlist for free today to see sample reviews and be the first to know when we launch.

Can I trust what’s written in the reviews?

Yes. Every review is checked for authenticity, and we don’t allow schools or outside parties to influence the content. These are unfiltered stories from people who have walked the path you’re on now.

Why not just rely on school rankings or open days?

Open days and test results only tell part of the story. They won’t show you how students actually feel at school, how issues are handled, or whether the environment is a good fit for your child. That’s where our reviews come in.

Is this platform independent?

Yes. We are not affiliated with any schools, education groups, or government departments. Our only priority is helping parents make confident, informed decisions.
