How we work these numbers out
  • Order. “Best match” puts schools where your exact word comes up first. “Most talked about” uses the share of reviews that mention it. Neither is a ranking of how good a school is.
  • Comes up in X% of reviews is the share of the school's reviews that mention your search. The Brisbane average is the same share across all Brisbane schools.
  • Speak well, mixed or raise concerns is worked out by software, using only the sentences about your search. It's right most of the time but not always, so read what people said.
  • What students did comes from the sports and activities former students ticked in their review. We show it when at least 3 answered.
  • Evidence is strong when 5 or more of at least 10 reviews mention it, some when 2 or more people do, and thin when only one person does.
  • Facts such as fees, ATAR and enrolments come from each school's own documents. Fees cover different year levels at different schools, so compare carefully.
  • Open Day Reflections come from our visits to 2026 open days. They're useful, but they reflect the school's own voice.

    Review Year 12 subject choices

Physics Digital solutions Media Modern history General maths English I chose them as throughout junior school you go on a rotation of subjects for two years allowing you to experience a little of what they'd be like for senior year. During middle school you get to select your favourites apart from maths and English and science. This gives you freedom to pursue stuff that you're actually interested in. Then for senior school you select subjects again but this time including maths, science and English. I chose subjects I was interested in which also happened to be what I was good at. Personally I would not have chosen differently as throughout this process there was academic coaching helping you decide on subjects and your end goal.

    Review Subject range and curiosity

For me there was plenty of options and it was actually hard to decide what subjects I wanted to do. Lots of practical activity were done in each subject I had. I also had plenty of excursions which also helped me stay engaged in the subject. I would say nearly no two people had the same subjects unless they were heavily academic doing all the top subjects.

    Review Year 12 subject choices

English, Maths A, Accounting, Business, Certificate in IT, Business management were the subjects I took. I enjoyed these subjects a lot and wouldn’t have don’t them any differently I think.

    Review Subject range and curiosity

Unfortunately I can’t remember if they had any exciting opportunities like this. Most of our studies were pretty independent so it was really up to us.

    Review Getting extra help

All of my teacher I had were happy to help anyone outside of class whether it be before school, during breaks or after school. If you were struggling in a core subject you could easily talk to the academic coaching team and they could come up with a solution to try and help. There was also rooms at lunch time that student could help each other out in especially in year 12. There was a school chaplain on site all week and even a psychiatrist on certain days so support was definitely there.

    Review Would you recommend it?

I would definitely recommend Kedron to others as it doesn't feel like any other public school. It feels more akin to a private school with it's behaviour and uniform standards as well as academics. Plenty of subjects to choose from depending on your future goals. Excellent arts department, great trades department as well as great STEM teachers. All of my teaches were really involved in their subject and wanted everyone to succeed. Personally didn't participate in any extracurricular activities but there was a plethora of options from sports to rocketry. There is also a strict no phones policie which when starting in year 7 I did not like but over the years you adjust and by the end I understood why it was a thing. It brings everyone closer together at lunch breaks as you have to actually socialise rather than just being on your phone. The tuckshop was also loved by everyone offering a wide range of foods and different specials depending on the day.
