How we work these numbers out
  • Order. “Best match” puts schools where your exact word comes up first. “Most talked about” uses the share of reviews that mention it. Neither is a ranking of how good a school is.
  • Comes up in X% of reviews is the share of the school's reviews that mention your search. The Brisbane average is the same share across all Brisbane schools.
  • Speak well, mixed or raise concerns is worked out by software, using only the sentences about your search. It's right most of the time but not always, so read what people said.
  • What students did comes from the sports and activities former students ticked in their review. We show it when at least 3 answered.
  • Evidence is strong when 5 or more of at least 10 reviews mention it, some when 2 or more people do, and thin when only one person does.
  • Facts such as fees, ATAR and enrolments come from each school's own documents. Fees cover different year levels at different schools, so compare carefully.
  • Open Day Reflections come from our visits to 2026 open days. They're useful, but they reflect the school's own voice.

    Review Would you recommend it?

I would definitely recommend Kedron to others as it doesn't feel like any other public school. It feels more akin to a private school with it's behaviour and uniform standards as well as academics. Plenty of subjects to choose from depending on your future goals. Excellent arts department, great trades department as well as great STEM teachers. All of my teaches were really involved in their subject and wanted everyone to succeed. Personally didn't participate in any extracurricular activities but there was a plethora of options from sports to rocketry. There is also a strict no phones policie which when starting in year 7 I did not like but over the years you adjust and by the end I understood why it was a thing. It brings everyone closer together at lunch breaks as you have to actually socialise rather than just being on your phone. The tuckshop was also loved by everyone offering a wide range of foods and different specials depending on the day.

Review Bullying and getting to school safely

Personally from what I witnessed I didn't see any bullying as the standards are held quite high so nothing really happened during my time there that I was aware of. There were occasions where the principal got up on assembly and addressed some issues directly and emphasied a zero tolerance policy to bullying. I walked to and from school and never felt unsafe anytime doing so. The Kedron brook is very open and is well lit at night so not once did I worry about my safety getting to and from school. They practised lockdowns multiple times a year so everyone was prepared if anything happened. From year 7 to 12 I only experienced one lockdown but can't remember the details but the police and emergency services arrived quickly and it probably helped that there is an emergency service complex next door.
