How we work these numbers out
  • Order. “Best match” puts schools where your exact word comes up first. “Most talked about” uses the share of reviews that mention it. Neither is a ranking of how good a school is.
  • Comes up in X% of reviews is the share of the school's reviews that mention your search. The Brisbane average is the same share across all Brisbane schools.
  • Speak well, mixed or raise concerns is worked out by software, using only the sentences about your search. It's right most of the time but not always, so read what people said.
  • What students did comes from the sports and activities former students ticked in their review. We show it when at least 3 answered.
  • Evidence is strong when 5 or more of at least 10 reviews mention it, some when 2 or more people do, and thin when only one person does.
  • Facts such as fees, ATAR and enrolments come from each school's own documents. Fees cover different year levels at different schools, so compare carefully.
  • Open Day Reflections come from our visits to 2026 open days. They're useful, but they reflect the school's own voice.

    Review Would you recommend it?

I would definitely recommend Kedron to others as it doesn't feel like any other public school. It feels more akin to a private school with it's behaviour and uniform standards as well as academics. Plenty of subjects to choose from depending on your future goals. Excellent arts department, great trades department as well as great STEM teachers. All of my teaches were really involved in their subject and wanted everyone to succeed. Personally didn't participate in any extracurricular activities but there was a plethora of options from sports to rocketry. There is also a strict no phones policie which when starting in year 7 I did not like but over the years you adjust and by the end I understood why it was a thing. It brings everyone closer together at lunch breaks as you have to actually socialise rather than just being on your phone. The tuckshop was also loved by everyone offering a wide range of foods and different specials depending on the day.

Review What had the biggest impact

The biggest impact on my school experience is no doubt the teachers I had. Two of them helped to ignite my passion for media and coding. The classes that were taught were not just reading power point presentations but had practical aspects that allowed us to interact with equipment. In these two classes it was hard to get bored and I always looked forward to the days where I had these classes.

    Review Would you recommend it?

The school was alright but the people in it were unbearable, for academics I would recommend it however if you were previously bullied you will most likely unfortunately be bullied here.

Review What had the biggest impact

Honestly I didn’t enjoy school much, it was an alright experience though I can’t say I enjoyed it or hated it. Teachers were alright, other students were mixed as some were racist and others were nice. You experience a mix of both worlds at KG unfortunately.

    Review School culture

The school was pretty relaxed in my opinion, they can only be so strict when you’re doing the wrong thing. They are strict when it comes to the uniform, but I never really wore it incorrectly so I didn’t get in trouble for it. Everyone stuck to their own groups, there were lots of multicultural groups when I was in school who spoke different languages so it would be hard to make new friends beyond those groups as everyone was quite reserved.

    Review School culture

The rules were strict and upheld tightly. But socially it varied a lot. You had many different groups from academically focussed to more laid back. Everyone was treated equally no matter what group they were apart of. It would definitely be easy to fit in as you just have to find like minded people. In the earlier year I found myself and others moved around a lot from group to group but as you progress you eventually settle down and stick with one group.
