How we work these numbers out
- Order. “Best match” puts schools where your exact word comes up first. “Most talked about” uses the share of reviews that mention it. Neither is a ranking of how good a school is.
- Comes up in X% of reviews is the share of the school's reviews that mention your search. The Brisbane average is the same share across all Brisbane schools.
- Speak well, mixed or raise concerns is worked out by software, using only the sentences about your search. It's right most of the time but not always, so read what people said.
- What students did comes from the sports and activities former students ticked in their review. We show it when at least 3 answered.
- Evidence is strong when 5 or more of at least 10 reviews mention it, some when 2 or more people do, and thin when only one person does.
- Facts such as fees, ATAR and enrolments come from each school's own documents. Fees cover different year levels at different schools, so compare carefully.
- Open Day Reflections come from our visits to 2026 open days. They're useful, but they reflect the school's own voice.

Teachers cared about the students' learning and would often give up lunchtimes and after-school hours to aid students in their education. If students weren't passing their courses, they would be required to undergo mandatory tutoring. Similarly, the school would reach out through email to students with low grades to offer help and resources.

Teachers were generally very accessible and willing to provide extra help to students struggling in core subjects. There were regular after-school tutoring sessions, and many teachers offered one-on-one support during their free periods. Additionally, the school had a peer mentoring program where older students helped younger ones with their studies. For example, when I struggled with Chemistry, my teacher arranged extra sessions to go over difficult concepts, and a senior student helped me with practice problems, which made a significant difference.

Teachers were extremely accessible and open to supporting students. Many subject clubs were ran by teachers including Maths Club, English Study and Science Club, where students could come in at lunchtime or after school and spend time with teachers going through problems or understanding content. It was a very open space, with lots of group work and one-on-one mentoring available. On top of that, the school had many other opportunities available for students who didn't want to pursue an academic pathway. The vocational department was exceptional at organising TAFE courses, internships, work placements, apprenticeships and certificates and qualifications that allowed students to move straight into full-time work after graduating. Overall, struggling students had a plethora of resources and support from both students and staff for academic and non-academic pathways.

There was no tutors, only select teachers available on select days at this thing they called 'homework club.' Never used that resource, peer mentoring got me through school.

Teachers will help you if you reach out, I think they were trialing out a peer mentoring thing awhile ago, I’m not sure if it’s still there. In senior year I know we had math tutoring for specialist maths to help them. For me, I used online videos and friends who knew the topics better than me.
