How we work these numbers out
  • Order. “Best match” puts schools where your exact word comes up first. “Most talked about” uses the share of reviews that mention it. Neither is a ranking of how good a school is.
  • Comes up in X% of reviews is the share of the school's reviews that mention your search. The Brisbane average is the same share across all Brisbane schools.
  • Speak well, mixed or raise concerns is worked out by software, using only the sentences about your search. It's right most of the time but not always, so read what people said.
  • What students did comes from the sports and activities former students ticked in their review. We show it when at least 3 answered.
  • Evidence is strong when 5 or more of at least 10 reviews mention it, some when 2 or more people do, and thin when only one person does.
  • Facts such as fees, ATAR and enrolments come from each school's own documents. Fees cover different year levels at different schools, so compare carefully.
  • Open Day Reflections come from our visits to 2026 open days. They're useful, but they reflect the school's own voice.

    Review Getting extra help

For a student struggling in a core subject, teachers were generally accessible and willing to help. Many offered extra lessons after school or during free periods, and they encouraged students to ask questions whenever they needed clarity. Some subjects also had peer tutoring programs or study groups where students could support one another.

    Review Would you recommend it?

Yes, I would recommend that school to others because it provided a supportive learning environment, dedicated teachers, and a strong academic program. The school encouraged personal growth through extracurricular activities and offered opportunities for students to explore their interests. While no school is perfect, the overall experience helped me grow both academically and personally, and I believe others could benefit from the same environment.

Review What had the biggest impact

One of the most impactful aspects of my school experience was the support and encouragement I received from certain teachers who truly believed in me. Their guidance helped me build confidence, especially during challenging times. A specific program that stood out was the science club, where I was able to explore my curiosity beyond the classroom and work on creative projects with others who shared my interests.

Review Chances to take part in the arts

Opportunities to participate in arts programs, such as music, drama, and visual arts, can vary depending on the location, institution, or community offering them. In general, these opportunities are abundant and accessible at various levels, ranging from local community centers to schools and universities

Review Coaching and chances to compete

My school’s coaches and programs did a good job of developing students’ skills and providing opportunities to compete. There were regular training sessions, and students were encouraged to join sports teams regardless of their skill level, which helped many build confidence over time. For those who were more competitive, the school organized matches with other schools and gave students the chance to participate in district and regional competitions.

    Review Would you recommend it?

I would recommend this school to students more interested in sports and arts rather than academics. There is a lack of attention towards the academic side of teaching, with some teachers teaching in more than one subject, sometimes with the subjects having no correlation to each other (e.g. drama & science). Not saying that the teachers or teaching faculty is bad, it could be better. The school is known for its excellence programs in sports like rugby and netball and in the arts like dance and drama, so go to wavell if that seems more your speed. The overall experience wasn't bad, but myself and my peers did experience bullying, racism, saw violence occur on campus and there was minimal help from administration to resolve these issues, therefore these things remained an issues for years.

Review What had the biggest impact

The only positive thing about my school experience was the dance excellence program and dance troupe, but even then it wasn't the best experience, it was a more tolerable one out of the whole high school experience.
